Perham Living Nursing Home

A major culture change to improve resident services was the impetus for this 55,000 square foot new construction and 29,000 square foot remodel. The facility was designed with separate "households," each with their own living room, dining room, private dining area, serving kitchen combined with activities kitchen, personal laundry, porch and utility spaces. The facility also incorporates a "town center" with inter-generational room, chapel, beauty-barber shop, 1950's cafe and large group gathering area. The exterior of the building expresses a residential feel with residential sized windows, gables and porches that also harmonize with the surrounding residential neighborhood. The facility has become nationally known for its "model of care" that it provides to the residents.
